Vagabond

Author(s): Anthony Karakai

Young Adult Fiction

Leonardo wakes up one day and decides he's had enough of the monotony of daily routine, and of being told by others how he should live his life. He dreams of foreign lands and the adventures that await him, and the last thing he wants is to be stuck in an office job. There's only one solution: Buy a backpack and venture toward the rugged lands of Latin America! Along the way, he discovers the powerful effects that travel has on him as he encounters new friends, new experiences, and a new way of looking at the world. Leonardo has never made a better decision - he is learning more about himself than ever before, and has learned how to listen to his heart, and follow his dreams. Little does he know that a greater force is at work and while on the backpacker trail, he will play a role in changing the world forever. This novel will inspire you to reach for your dreams and achieve what other people tell you is impossible to do. You'll explore the role of destiny in our lives and what "being an individual" means in a world of increasing cliches! Be an individual. Write the script of your own life. And never give up on your dreams."

Product Information

Anthony Karakai was born in Melbourne, Australia. Shortly after writing Vagabond, he signed to one of New York City's top literary agencies, topped the iTunes best seller lists in Australia, and then had his work adopted by grade 11 high school students who would contrast it with Paulo Coehlo's The Alchemist for their final year exams. Currently, he is most likely gallivanting somewhere remote, armed with nothing but a laptop and backpack.
